Houseworks, LLC is a design-build firm located in Berryville, VA servicing the Northern Shenandoah Valley and neighboring counties.  Beginning in 2001, recently married Will and Micki Martindale set out to provide design and construction services to clients seeking homes that are efficient, sustainable, and beautiful.  They continuously strive to incorporate the most current building science technologies and the highest level of craftsmanship into their projects while keeping a keen eye on the bottom line.  Will and Micki have a personal goal to provide customers with high-performance dwellings customized to their personal needs at reasonable costs.  Their long list of satisfied clientele is a testament to the dedication to this goal.  

Will Martindale grew up with a hammer in his hand and developed his skills as a builder while working with his uncle's construction company as early as age 13.  His interest in design was also rooted at home as his mother often enlisted his help with her sign-painting and interior design projects.  These combined interests led him to pursue a degree in architecture at Virginia Tech where he developed an understanding of what makes buildings work while continuing to work in the field between semesters to hone his construction skills.  To this day, his passion for creating smart, beautiful spaces is unwavering.  

Micki Bailey Martindale grew up in Clarke Co., where she and Will now live and work, and also received her Bachelor in Architecture from Virginia Tech.  After graduating together in '98, Micki and Will moved back to her home town to work for a local design/build company for less than 3 years before starting Houseworks, LLC.  Initially in the field building, Micki soon found herself primarily running the office side of the operation while raising 2 wonderful daughters at home.  Her understanding of the building process combined with her passion for efficiency has given her the essential skill set for managing a design/build company.
